Vermin. I hate vermin.

Casper has fleas.

He snuggled up to me last night and I noticed that he had black dirt on him. Hmm, that's weird... and then I kept looking. Aw CRAP. I'm not sure if Lilly brought them here or we somehow tracked them into the house on our shoes (which is apparently common in the Pacific NW??) but they're here and dammit they are not here to stay.

Now he gets to join the fun-go-round of medications that comprise his brother's life. Welcome to the meds group, Caspinator! And to the kitties: could we work together to not spend Mommy's paycheck on food, vet bills and medications before said paycheck even arrives? Thanks!

You probably actually want to treat both kitties at once. If one of them has fleas, the other probably does as well. In fact, you and Scott probably have them too. Itchy ankles yet?

I just treated both of them. Our laundry is in the wash, yay hot water! I'm not itchy at all, but for some reason fleas have never bothered me. Scotto on the other hand... well, he is bothered.

You gotta love kitties... but the cost is unbelievable isn't it? Growing up as a teen I spent more money on my cats than bloody cosmetics! Well worth it, though.

I do not know how on earth we have managed to avoid fleas on our cats, since they're outside most of the time. But, they do seem to each get a tapeworm at least 2-3 times a year, so I guess it all evens out. (I have a standing prescription for tapeworm meds at my vet's office, I don't even have to bring them in anymore.)

I'm sure I just jinxed myself by writing that. I'll probably find fleas on all of them before this weekend.

I've now seen about every type of worm imaginable in the volunteer schtick, and I have to say I'll take the fleas any day. The worms freak me out. I give you major kudos for being able to treat them and be done with it. Tapeworms and roundworms flip me out.
