So much to say!

Hola, amigos. I know it's been a long time since I rapped at ya, but I've been busy in Joisey and points north.

(Bonus points to the reader who can place the intro!)

We got back from Catherine's bridal shower last night; we spent a fruitful 5 days meandering between the Jersey shore and north of Boston. This was a trip during which I learned/confirmed many things. Some of the more important findings are, in no particular order:

1) My in-laws and my mother-in-law's close friends read this site. Holy crap! Welcome! How are you?
2) Dunkin' Donuts has really gone downhill.
3) I miss lightning storms and fireflies. We were treated to a fan-tabulous, huge thunder and lightning show near Worcester, MA.
4) I don't miss the mosquitoes. While it sucks that we don't have thunder and lightning here, it is also a blessing that we don't have varmints sucking the lifeblood out of us.
5) Driving through Connecticut really does suck as hard as I remember it sucking when I was a kid.
6) For their driving, the name "massholes" is totally appropriate.
7) I desperately miss living back east.

Catherine, Ryan, Beth and Neil look great; the shower went well and C&R hauled the loot back to their cute little beach house where mound-like raccoons can speculate on the best way to maul them and steal their new deep fryer. We spent time with Linda, Paul, Krista and Laurel, and had a blast hanging out with them. It's so nice to be able to discuss politics with family over a few liters of rum punch. Now it's back to the grind and the work week, but I have many photos and much more blogging in me, so there will be an update soon. I also have wedding photos to post to the blog, but I don't have the fancy-schmancy professional photographer grade wedding photos yet. I don't expect to have those in hand until September.

And for those of you who have called, emailed or commented about the car name...duh dah DUM...her name is Eggelberta Humpydink, so named because of her egg-like shape. Her nickname is Eggie. :-)

I TOTALLY concur: Dunkin' Donuts is nothing like what I remember from the past, when I used to be late for first period in high school because I was getting my usual "large coffee, light and sweet" (read: tons of cream and, like, 3/4 C sugar). Somehow, the coffee now tastes chemmy. Full of additives and preservatives. I wonder why?
