Canine craziness
We walked in the Fuh-rray 5K yesterday. Whoa. 3000 people and their dogs, walking or running to raise funds for the animal shelter. Again, whoa. We had a work group, the Hutchie Hounds, so we were well represented in terms of dogs and people. My friend Sarah brought 4 doggies, 2 of which we walked. Scott walked Lucy (Lucifer), the adorable lemon hound dog who is quite rambunctious and adorable, and I walked Larry, the cutie patootie beagle/Jack Russell mix.
Around the 1.5/2 mile mark, Larry decided he was done trotting along. He sat down (this might have had something to do with the large hill in front of us) and wouldn't budge. So I carried him up the hill, eliciting lots of laughs from the other folks. Of course, Larry perked up again after some water at the top and the realization that it was all (literally) downhill from there.
I had wanted to run this 5K in the past, but after walking it I realized it ain't never gonna happen. As God is my witness, I will never knowingly run a hilly 5K again. For I am a wimp.
