Magic Shortbus Ride

I take the work shuttle every day up to the university and back. There are 3 drivers: Lover Boy, who flirts with everyone; Slow but Sweet Guy, 'nuff said; and Bumpity Bump Grump. Guess who I usually see.

I had SSG on the ride up, which is always smooth and filled with ridin' to the oldies. Today's artiste du jour was Steppenwolf, and so their famous carpet ride quickly wormed into my head. But wouldn't you know I had a bad tummy ache all day? So for the ride back I barely stifled my groan when I saw BBG behind the wheel.

Disclosure: I am prone to motion sickness. And it was one of those days when I was not pleased to be on a rickety shortbus with stinky biological specimens. Not that I'm every pleased to be in such a situation, but you get my drift.

Anyhoos, I get in the shuttle shortbus, feeling Nauseous and Nasty. BBG proceeded to hit Every. Damn. Pothole. It's only 1.5 miles between the work and school, and lemme tell you, I should have freaking walked. I still had Steppenwolf in my head, so it turned into:
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the nausea take you away

It was not a good shuttle shortbus ride. BBG should distribute Dramamine to all of his riders. And get some depth perception so he's not veering all over the damn road. I got back to work, closed the door to my office, and put my head on the desk until it stopped spinning. I can't believe this guy is responsible for transporting cancer patients all over the place.

On a brighter note, I finished a significant portion of my grad school application tonight, and I'm all up on studying for my first test of the quarter. We also went grocery shopping, and I managed to find vegetarian and meaty Halloweenies. Come Friday we're gonna party like it's 1999.

Glad I can help! I did think of you during the ride because the return station focused on the Dead. :-)
