Nesting, cooking, and partying

Each year around the time of my birthday, I start analyzing the year that was, the year that will be, and where I want to be this time next year. It's a bit crazy for me to think that this time next year I'll be married and I may be in grad school. Not crazy in that I'm not excited for it, but crazy in that there's a loooot of stuff to get done between now and then. It's also funny because although I'm still in my twenties for another 12 months, I feel much older on the inside. I'm not at all upset about that, rather it's like I have a nesting instinct (Scotto calls it "being a bitch hermit") that is really strong and as a result I want to be in bed by 10 on Friday nights. Thank goodness Scott is the same way, and has been since before I met him.

Speaking of nesting, we're about 1 week out from our Halloween party. I'm really excited about it, first because we have a decent turnout (12-16 and counting) and I'm making pumpkin cheesecakes, little pumpkin spice cakes, and mulling cider for the pahtee. We'll also have such delectable games as Bobbing for Booze, where a hollowed-out apple has a small airplane-sized booze bottle in it (I haven't figured out how to do that) and this little pumpkin decorating kit. All in all, I'm hoping for a fun evening.
