In need of suggestions
Hello innernet friends. Would y'all please take a moment to send me some suggestions for first wedding songs? We cannot get it together to actually pick one, and for some reason we cannot decide on band or DJ until we pick one, and now our wedding date is super popular, and I am starting to fear that we will be stuck with my grandmother spinning MP3s off of a burned CD in a boombox, so help would be great, because Jesus Cristo in Heaven above, I cannot get it together. Thanks.
OK, now that that is off my plate...I am still sick. Surprise! Couldn't tell from the tone, could you? Now I am hacking up a lung instead of burning up with fever, so I suppose that's a move in the right direction. Sammy's bloodwork came back great, but we still have to follow-up with the vet (ca-CHING!) to see if he needs some procedure$$, and by "procedures" I mean enemas possibly under anesthesia, and now you can see why Scott and I will not be buying each other holiday presents this year, but instead we hope that Santa/Yahweh leaves us a healthy kitty colon under the Christmas tree/Hanukkah bush, with installation instructions and AA batteries, because you always seem to need batteries, no? Unfortunately, the dreidels in our household are not made of clay, but rather kitty laxatives and cash and run-on sentences.
Speaking of cash, we're already trying to save for the hitchin', and the cheapest plane fare I can find for our dates to go east for the holidays is about $500 a person. We can't stay very long because we're trying to bank vacation time for July. Bah. Sunshine and farts, lemme tell you, that is what I am full of these days.
Rather than ending on a down note, I will leave you with a happy picture of Jesse, owned by my in-laws and loved by all. Hopefully her happy nature will rub off on me this coming December.

Song suggestion: "At Last" by Etta James. That one's always a classic. Or you could use "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green.
Or, if your vet bills continue at their current pace, it might be more appropriate to use "In the Ghetto". (Just kidding. But that would be really funny.)
Awwww Jessie always makes me smile no matter how I feel :-)

Okay...I'm not one for mushy wedding songs....and this ones come pretty cloes to not being one...........Pat Benatar..."We Belong"
Kim....Oasis for Animals
"In the Ghetto" is very appropriate AND funny. Two great things that go great together. We're off to another vet's appointment tomorrow, so I've downloaded "ITG" to sing on the way.
Z-Pack, girl. Z-Pack.
wedding songs...hmmm...well you know i'm a fan of Bob Marley "One Love," and there's always "Islands in the Stream." I remember how much you used to love that one, sweetness, back in first grade.
Hmm... you mean first dance songs, yes? Here's what my recent photo clients have chosen that made me get misty while shooting...
"Storybook Love"- This is the theme of "The Princess Bride," which I watched repeatedly when I was 8. You can download it off iTunes. Search under The Willy DeVille Acoustic Trio.
"Power of Two" by the Indigo Girls
"Feel It Turn" by Great Big Sea. I know Scott likes their music. My April wedding clients danced to this. Joel and I went to Yosemite a few days after that, and I listened to this song on repeat throughout the whole trip.
"Someone to Fall Back On" by Jason Robert Brown. SO GOOD. My friend Matt performed this for his husband at their commitment ceremony in August. Not a dry eye in the room.
"Crazy Love" by Ray Charles... slow, classic and just a little sexy.
"Somewhere Over the Rainbow." There's an awesome Hawaiian-ish version by Israel-Kamakawiwoole with a ukulele beat. A lot of people use that as their last dance of the night, especially if they honeymoon in Hawaii.
"Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra- also a good last dance song
And while we're at it. "Last Dance" by Donna Summers... a fun way to finish the reception
Oh, and "The Wedding Song" by Antje Duvekot. Antje is really breaking out on the folk scene, but her music is a little hard to find. See, now I just want to burn you a CD. Would that be okay with you? If not, Antje was Alissa's college roommate, so I bet Liss has it somewhere.
