More bad news
Back down on the roller coaster. It's only Monday and I would like to crawl under the covers and get out when it's time to get on a plane to Hawaii, thankyouverymuch.
I took Butters and Sammy to the vet on Friday because they've both been acting funny, and someone has been peeing on our chair. Thank the goddess for wet vacs, Febreeze, and Pine Sol.
Today the vet called to say that Sammy has super-concentrated urine along with crystals and blood. But no infection. She thinks he has the start of chronic urinary disease. More medication, change in diet, forcing fluids on him, maybe IV fluids at home.
Crap. But wait, it gets better. No, worse. That's what I meant.
Butterball has kidney disease.
Aw fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
I start both of them on medication tomorrow, possibly IV fluids for both of them, then we repeat blood work and urine cultures and see if we can keep the kidney disease from progressing in Butters. If we can't, then we keep him comfortable for as long as possible. Then we keep me highly medicated, because I already get teary looking at Butters or Sammy. Right now they're on the bed together, so I'm in the other room weeping. Awesome.
Me? Tomorrow I get to start at the anticoagulation clinic. Mo' needles, mo' needles, mo' needles!
I would like a hug. Maybe two. And a tequila shot, please. Maybe two or three of those. And maybe a shopping spree that I can't afford. Because these last two weeks have really sucked ass.

It's so hard when the fuzzy ones can't even tell you about their symptoms, how they're feeling, etc. If only wishing really hard and giving them TLC could make it all better... I am so sorry you're going through all this.
::::slices lemon, passes salt shaker::::
Well, I'm glad that you're doing better, at least. The part about the kitties really sucks, though. Poor little guys.
