Burned out
Def: exhausted as a result of long-time stress; e.g. "she was burned-out before she was 30." Hmm. That sounds accurate. Thanks diction@ry.com!
I took my o-khem final this morning. It wasn't impossible but it wasn't easy. I had a really hard time motivating myself to study. I am, in fact, having a hard time motivating to do anything related to grad school. I know that I want to go, but now I'm having a bit of a crisis of faith related to pharmaceutics and research. Do I apply to med school instead? Apply for a PhD in medicinal chemistry? Stick to the PharmD with a research degree or clinical degree? I've already decided to sit for the pharm entrance exam, but what if clinical hematology/oncology with research isn't where it's at? What then?
Ack. It gives me a headache just thinking about it. I'd really love to sit on a beach and chill out for, oh, 5 years. It scares me to think that I might start grad school next year, and then we'll probably have our first kid during that time. I think my head might explode without some down time. Maybe I should start playing scratch-off lotto.
On a happier note, we went to LA this weekend and had a nice time. We caught up with Nick, stuck our feet in the Pacific, and danced at J-Ma's lovely wedding. As my HTB would say, "ever forward."
