Confession
I always swore I would never do this, that I didn't understand the appeal, that there is a tainted history to it. And yet...
I watched NASCAR yesterday; the entire Daytona 500. I loved it. I cheered when Mark Martin was winning, and I was disappointed when he lost. Now I understand why people like it, what with the crashes, the strategy, the drafting. I won't be hoisting a Dixie flag up (ever) but I did crave BBQ and Bud during the race.
OK, that's my confession. The end.
The weekend was lovely. I went to the garden show on Friday with M and S, and even bought a little herb-garden-in-a-bucket. The displays got me all hot and bothered for a real garden someday, but for now I'm mulling over the challenges of a concrete garden in the condo.
Saturday we had a delicious dinner out, and then tried a new dessert cafe. I had wanted to try this place for weeks, had talked it up to my friends, and in the end, it was awful. The desserts were stale, the carrot cake cocktail was disgusting, and the prices are astronomical. My favorite dessert place is closing soon to make room for new construction, so I was really hoping this place would be the replacement. Ha! Not even close. Seattleites, I'd love to hear from you if you've been to this place and liked it.
So, that's the wrap-up. Today is another day off (yessss!!) so I'm taking Sammy to the vet and then going to the shelter. Have a wonderful week y'all!

That's a great way to describe the effects of the garden show. It turns out the cure for being hot and bothered is to rush to the nursery the next day, purchase $150 worth of plants, bulbs, and seeds, then stop by Home Depot where the same items are half the price, then go home and plant them all in the rain. I'm back to a mild simmer until the next sunny weekend.
