First day of classes
Dude. DUDE. It is going to be a long couple of years.
Happy note: I am where I should be. I love me some drugs; the properties of irinotecan give me warm fuzzies and I'm truly excited to do IV formulation. I'm still horrified at the thought of giving someone a stent or a pelvic exam or starting an IV; yes, no med or nursing school for me, and God bless the people who can do it. Oh, and I hate teeth, so dentistry is way out. Check, check, check. I'm in the right health sciences school.
Bummer note: Ze classes, they are going to be hard. "Explain why lipophilic sterically hindered prodrug esters would be useful for agents administered in eye drops that have sites of action in the eye (e.g. glaucoma treatment)." Th' hell? I need to go take some aspirin and lie down after reading that, not answer a bunch of questions just like that in a test. Fawk me.
I'm also stuck on a committee with a bunch of cheerleaders, meaning folks for whom you cannot speak ill of the school, or imply that you may speak ill of the school, or really speak at all as a first-year. Sheesh. There's also a huge Drama Queen on this committee, the kind of person who opens her mouth way too much to talk about what she thinks about every damn thing out there, being the ripe old age of 28 or so and not having a real job before going to school. I love me the kiddies with little to no real-world experience who behave as if they have wisdom in spades.
Ah, bedtime. 46 days to go until break!
