Welcoming Ms. Autumn to town
Another Labor Day is (almost) over, so I trotted down to the local store today to purchase fall-scented candles. I was hoping for something in the pumpkin way, but ended up with apple. Close enough. I'm quite excited that my favorite season is almost here, although it doesn't officially arrive for a few more weeks, which gives me a few weeks to sort out school crap and look for books online and such.
This weekend we went out to Bumbersh0ot for a day and saw Rodrig0 y Gabriela. Y'all must, must, MUST go see them if they are in your neck of the woods. They put on a kick-ass show and lil' Gab threw the horns after each acoustic song, which cracked us both up.
More recs! I solidified my dork cred by going to the local video store this weekend and renting some documentaries. I watched All My Babies on Sunday. It was filmed in the early 1950s and has since been used as an educational film for midwives here in the States and is still being used in other countries such as India. I love that our local store has a section labeled "Womyn." Go rent it if you can, and if you do, heads up that there is a birth scene in there, but nothing worse than that PBS special you saw in 10th grade health.
The other awesome documentary, which is actually a series, is The Blue Planet, which is put out by BBC. I want to watch Planet Earth, but that's always rented out. Blue Planet is done by the same folks, and it's all about oceans. So far I watched Coral Seas last night, and tonight I think it's going to be The Deep and Seasonal Seas. There's 8 parts in total; a good way to procrastinate on all the stuff I should be doing.
Finally, we have wedding photos from Starr! Well over 500! Yay! Crap! But I've opened a Flickr account, so there's progress. There are adorable photos of some of y'all in there too, so I will post it all soon, I promise. But now I have 1300 to go through and post and ugh, it's just a lot. But I will do it soon. Happy Tuesday!

FALL SCENTED CANDLES???
girl, it's worse than we thought.
you need help immediately.
What, do you expect me to go outside and experience fall scents in nature or something? You forget that I'm a yuppie, not a hippie.
Besides, with 2 cats that have health problems, scented candles are a necessity of life around here. :-)
Ok, trying to be patient and all that, but dude, WHERE ARE THE PICTURES?!?!?!!
P.S. I like the fall scented candles too. Pumpkin is my favorite.
