The trials and tribulations of Mr. B
These are not happy times around the homestead.
On a very serious note, Scott's Nana is in ICU in Florida after a massive heart attack. Please send positive, clot-busting, heart-muscle-healing energy her way.
On to the not-so-serious, sleep-depriving, OF COURSE freaking feline-related issues.

This is not a happy cat.
Mr. Butters has allergies. Mr. Butters has managed to mangle part of his paw, which of course is what you do when your paw is itchy. Mr. B then developed an abscess, which broke open, and he then managed to EAT THROUGH the paw, needing multiple stitches to put his damn paw back together again. The vet also drew blood while stitching him up and we discovered that he is officially pre-diabetic, so we have switched him to an even stricter diet.
Mr. B is not happy about being bandaged. Mom is not happy that Mr. B is bandaged. Mr. B is very unhappy about being on a diet. Mom says, "ha ha, SUCKER, welcome to the club!"
Let me give you a short quiz as to how Mr. B expresses his rage/anger/confusion about this situation:
a) getting on the bed with mom, slapping her upside the head with a bandaged paw in the middle of the night repeatedly until she wakes up;
b) humping the food bag in the laundry room until he knocks it over, then scrambling for booty until mom catches him;
c) scooping poop into the cone when he's wearing it, and... well, I won't go into detail on this one;
d) peeing all over mom when she tries to change his bandage;
e) all of the above.
Yes, Bastard-ball is giving me a run for the money. The stitches are out next week. Then I am going to start sedating him when I leave for work/school everyday because I cannot afford any more damn vet bills for this cat.
School starts on Monday for orientation, and classes start the following Wednesday. I met with the kind academia folks last week and found out that *no one* has completed the program/focus I've been admitted to do. Awesome. Some have come back to try to finish, but no one actually has. No pressure. I was very optimistic after that meeting, but since then I've started to freak out. Now I keep waking up every hour or so at night, that is, when Butters isn't reminding me of how much he luuurves the bandage and the "slim down, fat ass, before you're diabetic 2007" plan.
That, folks, is the update here. I hope all-s-y'all are quite happy where you are.
