Hello from Can-tuck-ee!
I am tucked into a lovely king-sized bed in Louisville, Kentucky, home of this year's ACCP annual meeting. Upon arriving at the airport tonight, I was reminded in the first 3 large advertisements that Louisville is home to 1) horses; 2) bourbon; and 3) Jewish hospital, where you can get good cardiac care. I guess the last two are a really big draw, because the room service menu has no less than 14 types of bourbon and also includes kosher selections, challah, kreplach, and matzoh ball soup. Who knew that I could get better Jewish food in Kentucky than in Seattle? Nagymama would be proud.
Tomorrow starts actual conference programming, but in the morning I'm going to haul myself over to the Louisville slugger factory to check out the bats and the museum. I don't do my poster schtick until Monday, so I get to sit back and network and learn stuff until then. The hotel also has a fitness room and a pool, so I've told myself that I'm going to get up and actually swim, but I think I'll probably just drink some coffee in the hot tub. :-) Not a bad way to start an oncology weekend in Louisville.
Have a good weekend!
