Hi there, remember me?
Yaaaay, finals are over! Now, I can get back to posting semi-regularly rather than, well, almost never.
Today I went to the dentist for a re-do of a shitty root canal. Fun, let me tell you. Almost two years ago I went in and had this root canal done, and my dentist at the time told me it was a difficult job, but she was able to do it (foreshadowing note: har!) So it turns out that (after being referred to an endodontist) my former dentist didn't pull the entire set of nerves out (so that's why my damn tooth still hurts!) plus missed another canal altogether. Awesome. I spent 2 hours in the chair today, having the endodontist carve away at the crown above the crappy root canal, then dig in, only to find out that the missed canal has calcified over and the cement atop the still-remaining roots is taking forever to dissolve away. I now have a temporary filling, a tooth full of solvent, a bit of EDTA to dissolve away some of the calcification, and fingers crossed that at the next session we can finish this puppy off. Oh, and a massive fawking head and tooth and grumpache.
Yes, and the crown? The one over this shitty root canal? That has to be redone too, because the former dentist didn't have it made properly so it doesn't fit well. But of course since crowns are guaranteed for 5 years' time, I have to go after the dentist for the money and then go to a new dentist for the crown.
Hate. And rage. And hate and hate and rage. Fa la la la la la.
On to happier news! The boys are still happy, furry, and fat. We leave for Florida on Monday and our cat sitter will be here for a week to make nice with them, which is *awesome* because otherwise we'd be boarding all 3 of them at the vet for the svelte fee of $700. We recently went to see Dina Martina, which all of you Seattle folks should go run to see before the show closes. We have a burf-day party tomorrow night for a friend, and this past weekend Scotto and I went to the Fairmont downtown for an overnight as part of his Christmas present. I love being on break from classes. Two thumbs up there.
I hope y'all are having a good week!

Hate and rage, hate and rage! I am so with you -- I'm actually going for a "consult" this week with my old family dentist in Lancaster to see whether my dentist here is trying to rip me off with two more crowns, in addition to the one she already gave me last week. Sigh. My heart goes out to your tooth pulp (is that gross? sorry). :)
