Huh-why-ee
We've been trying to figure out what to do for a family reunion (my side) this summer to celebrate my parents being hitched for 35 years. We mulled over a cruise to Alaska (pricey, and a few of us get seasick), something in the Caribbean (hurricane season), or something closer to home (dismissed as boooring by the under 25 contingent).
Last night my brother called and said he had used some timeshare points to book a trip to the Big Island. Hawaii, here we come! We'll be here in Kona in August:

All we have to do is pay for airfare and a rental car. How sweet is that? This is one of the hot tubs at the resort:

I can taste the mai tais already. Happy Tuesday!

You're taking everyone who's blogging in March with you, right? That's our reward for the 25 posts? :)
Heh. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii....
Michael and I are planning to go over X-mas...anyone want to join us? Cara, we'd tag along with you but, you know, school and all. I'd love to hear any recommendation you have!
Kelly, have you been to Hawaii before? If not, I'd probably start with Oahu if you're in a sightseeing mood. But Honolulu reminds me of a tropical San Fran. If that's not what you're looking for, then Kauai is awesome for beauty and nature. The Big Island is great for the volcanoes (the only island with active ones). Once you have an island you're sure of, I'm happy to send recs! Maui is nice, if you go there I'd stay in Kihei.
We're going to be there the week before you guys to celebrate my parents' 35th anniversary. Cue Twilight Zone music
