Summertime in the city

Woo hoo, summertime is here! No, I haven't fallen completely off the map, but came damn near close a few times this past quarter. This quarter was really, really rough academically. I also had no free time because I was on rotation multiple times a week. Killer classes (pharmaceutics is the devil; even worse than med chem) also didn't help. But I made it through and survived! Now it's on to the next year, replete with research, therapeutics, and literature evaluation, but thank goodness I get a year's respite from regular rotation.

Updates on us. Scotto's doing fantabulous as always, and I'm incredibly lucky to have such a supportive husband. We have a foster kitty named Lucas, but we've dubbed him Mayor McCheese. We took McCheese to an adoption event this past Saturday, and wouldn't you know the lil' bugger froze up and didn't move in his cage. Not really adoption material when you stick your butt up in the air for potential adopters to see, without doing much else. Note for the future: furry anus doesn't sell, kid. I'm working on his petf!nder ad now, so hopefully somebody will come by and swoop him up soon. Pictures to follow. Our kitties are the same: Butterball's fat, Sampson's grumpy, and Casper's nuts.

This weekend we're heading to a beer festival, and now that summer's here we're starting to have friends over on a regular basis for dinners and/or cocktails on the roof. I'm also finally reading for fun again. Yesterday I read Brain Surgeon in about 4 hours, and I just started reading How We Die. Not totally uplifting, but I don't do fiction.

More soon, including Rome pictures and los fotos of Mayor McCheese! Happy Tuesday!
