Fall cooking
Fall is my favorite season, firmly ensconced as such because of Halloween, foliage, my birthday, and the fabulous cooking that fall entails. Like spiced cider and pumpkin cheesecake.
I've decided to cook a bunch of stuff this weekend in honor of fall being upon us. Butternut squash risotto, baked apples with walnuts, rhubarb-strawberry crisp, ham-gruyere crepes, baked eggplant, and pumpkin patch spice cakes. The cakes are actually in the shape of little pumpkins and I am quite excited to taste the finished product.
This is all a long warm-up to Thanksgiving, when my family will be in town and I'll be cooking for a continuous week. Yee haw!! If this whole pharmacy thing doesn't work out, then maybe catering is my true calling. Or a wine and cheese shop. Mmmmm, wine. Mmmmmm, cheese. Anyhoos, I'd love to hear any favorite fall recipes that y'all have, because I'm always looking for new and exciting munchies to add to the repertoire. Happy Friday!

I love autumn (as us Brits dub it) for exactly the same reasons as you! Foiliage! I love the gorgeous merges of orange, gold, brown and red that carpet all the pavements and wrap around a city like a patchwork quilt, the cosiness and of course - my birthday is smack, bang in the middle of it as well.
