It's gettin' (way too) hot in here

I love Seattle in the summertime. It's sunny, it's breezy, and the skies are blue. But right now we are having a heat wave, and that sucks butt, because no one here has air conditioning. It's 90 degrees outside and 85 in our condo. Meh. Hate. Feeling brain dead and shh-wheaty. Cats are grumpy. Yuck.

Moving on to happier things. We went to the Pride parade today. I haven't been to Pride in years, and it's really funny how it's changing up. It used to be heavier on the leather daddies and fairy getups; now there's more kids, more focus on PFLAG, and a lot more mainstream politicos and their action groups. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good thing that the LGBT community is gaining more acceptance, but it's also strange to see the way the parade and the reflection of the community has changed over the years. (BTW, to cut the easily offended off at the pass, I do realize that the Pride parade does not speak/stand for/memorialize for every member of the LGBTQA community).

Tonight we're off to a BBQ/George Carlin memorial picnic at our friend Fozzy's house. He just bought his condo, and I'm hoping he has air conditioning. If not, then I might have to find his bathtub and jump in fully clothed. Meh. Heat. Hate.

See, this is why we got central A/C in our house a couple of years ago, and all the locals around here acted like we were crazy. I don't care that you don't need it that often, it's 70 degrees inside my house right now, and everybody is happy.

I'd invite you guys over, but the place is a mess and our guest bed reeks of cat pee (it's on the "things to throw away before we move" list).

Thank you for the offer, you are very kind. :-) Right now I'm looking forward to flying to Philly on Friday so we can get to a place with A/C. If we settle in Seattle, we are having A/C put in. Period. My house in Kirkland had it, and I'm missing it like crazy right now.
