Quick update

Sammy made it through surgery. They found a tumor blocking his airway, and were able to remove all of it (or just about all of it). It's being sent out for histology, so we won't know if it's cancer or not for a few days. They had to split his soft palate to get to the tumor, so the next 24 hours are critical. If there's limited swelling in his airway then he's made it over the next hurdle. Fingers crossed that he'll be okay through this step and it's not cancer. Thank you for the good wishes and hug your fur kids tight tonight.

Aw, geez. I get crazy busy, stop checking blogs for a week, and POOP, this happens. I'm so sorry, Cara, and I'm sorry I didn't see this before.

It's so hard when they're sick. It breaks my heart because they can't even tell us where it hurts or if the things we're doing for them are helping. I'm glad Sammy is through the hardest bit. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, and that Sammy will be eating your hair in your sleep again before you know it.

Good job getting Mayor McCheese placed, which is always a good thing, though I'm sure it's a little too quiet around the house right now with one less set of four little feet. Thinking of you all.
