Cara needs a new pair of shoes
I'm starting to work on my to-do list before Rome, and I really need a pair of comfortable shoes. I have Dansk0 clogs, which are awesome, but I'd like another pair to bring with me to switch off from day-to-day. Does anyone have a non-sneaker pair of shoes which are really comfy that they'd recommend?
I'm also considering buying a new camera. If anyone has a fabulous digital camera (um, reasonably priced please--no $1000 machines) to recommend, then I'm all ears.

Hm. How casual/fancy do you want your shoes? I have several pairs of really casual shoes from LL Bean and Lands End. I have the no-lace moc shoes which are super comfy and great for walking a lot, but I also think they're not at all cute. But they have a number of different styles of shoes (some much cuter than the mocs) and all of the shoes I've ever had from either of those places have been very comfy and good for walking a lot.
Keens! Keens Keens Keens Keens Keens. My coworker had a pair that I noticed looked vaguely Euro and cute, but she also made the long trek to work wearing them and said they were perfect walking shoes. I now have two pairs -- one Mary Jane-ish flats and one of these http://www.zappos.com/product/7329298/color/106049 -- and they are amazing.
We just bought the Sony DSC-W170 (man, they need to hire someone to give their products actual names) a month or two ago. It's a pretty splendid little camera for under 200 bucks.
In general (and this coming from a camera nerd) just look for something with optical image stabilization (not "digital image stabllization), ignore the megapixel rating, and check out photos taken with the camera using the excellent Flickr Camera Search.
Curse all of you and your wanton shoe purchases! Wah!
