No news yet
We haven't yet received Mr. Sammy's path report back yet, so I have no news for you. I am not pleased.
Warning! Rant following!
While I like this vet practice for their surgical skills, their customer service and bedside manner leave more than a bit to be desired. For example, when I picked Sammy-pants up (a day after surgery), the slovenly tech told me he's a "lazy cat" because he didn't want to use his litter box, so they had to give him a bath. Excuse me?? You just split open part of his skull 18 hours ago. If humans have that done, we give them the dignity of a Foley catheter for at least a day. Suck it, assmunch, I'm sorry you have to earn your paycheck today and get off your ass and do something. Oh, and for the money you're charging me, you can throw in a bath with gold butt plating for the cat. She also couldn't answer my questions (like, why are you giving him antibiotics that have previously made him sick, can't we use a different one?) and was downright rude. I ended up getting frustrated and telling her what I thought of her lazy comment. Yeah, we won't be seeing her again. BTW, when I brought Sammy home he trotted right over to his box and used it. I hope he peed himself just because he could sense that she was a lazy beeyotch.
I called yesterday about the path report, no news. Called today and the tech told me that it's there, but the doctor's off today. Well, this is a practice of 5 surgeons, so someone else can read it to me, right? She told me only Dr. B can do it. Um...why? "I don't understand the report." That's fine, you don't have to understand the report to tell me what's written next to "diagnosis." Jeebus, just sound it out. And how do you get to be a vet tech in a surgical practice if you don't understand the reports that come across the desk every day, multiple times a day? Whatever. I explained (calmly! nicely!) that we were supposed to have the report on Friday, so bumble through it, for fuck's sake, or find someone who can (didn't phrase it that way! flies, honey, vinegar!). But no, I have to wait until tomorrow for Dr. B to call me back when he's done with surgery, because she couldn't figure out how to put me on hold (allegedly) and also disconnected me. Great.
Hate. Rage. Spit. So glad the tumor's gone, can't wait to talk with the crappy no-bedside-manner surgeon next week to explain why his staff can suck it and I'll recommend people go elsewhere in the future.
