On the night shift

Good morning y'all.

I'm sitting at our dining room table, with Sampson keeping me company on the chair next to me and Casper curled up on my lap. I'm trying to finish up slides for a presentation I'm doing tomorrow afternoon, and also updating a proposal for work. Oh, and trying to put the kibosh on a manuscript before 9 am. Have I mentioned that it's my summer? And I'm wondering if academic research is really for me? Yes, yes, indeed.

The in-laws are here! We are having a great time. We went to a baseball game tonight, and we trekked down to the Museum of Glass today. I definitely recommend the current installation there; it's gorgeous. Yesterday was Bainbridge Island, a local wine restaurant, and a great show at the SAM. Tomorrow night is another baseball game because the BoSox are in town. Yay, fun. Boo, no sleep. Oh, sweet, dear, sleep, how I miss you much.
